Terms
Last updated 2026-10-30
These are the terms for buying from Canada ESA Register. They are written to be read, not to be survived.
Who we are
Canada ESA Register is a privately run register. Email [email protected]. You buy from our merchant of record, Armitage Labs OÜ, trading as Creem, Rotermanni 14, Tallinn, Estonia. Creem is the seller: it takes the payment, collects any sales tax and makes any refund, and we never see your card details. We prepare and deliver the documents, keep the register and answer your questions.
What we sell
Four things, all digital:
- The certificate. A pet registration with a certificate and a register card, delivered by email as two PDF files.
- The certificate as a gift. The same registration, bought as a code for someone else to redeem.
- The landlord letter. A pet request letter to your landlord and a one-page pet resume, written from your answers for the province the rental is in, delivered as two PDF files with the text of the letter in the email so you can edit it. Nothing goes on the register. The letter is a template completed with your own details. It is not legal advice, we are not a law firm, and we do not promise any answer from a landlord.
- The certificate with a landlord letter. The same registration, plus a pet request letter to your landlord and a one-page pet resume, written from your answers for the province the rental is in. It is delivered as four PDF files, with the text of the letter in the email so you can edit it before you send it. The letter is a template completed with your own details. It is not legal advice, we are not a law firm, and we do not promise any answer from a landlord.
None of them is a legal document, none is issued by any government body, and none creates any right. The certificate is not a guide dog or service dog certification under any provincial law. Our disclaimer sets that out in full and forms part of these terms.
Where we sell
To people who live in Canada, except in Quebec. We ask which province or territory you live in before you pay, and we do not take orders from Quebec.
How long a registration lasts
An entry stays current for 18 months from the day it is made. After that the public check shows it as expired, and a new entry can be made for the same pet. Nothing is charged automatically and no card details are kept, so nothing renews by itself.
The date is set when the entry is made and does not move afterwards. If we change the period in future, the change applies to entries bought after it, never backwards to one you have already paid for.
You need to be an adult
You must have reached the age of majority where you live, which is 18 or 19 depending on the province or territory.
Give us accurate information
What you tell us goes on the documents, so it needs to be true and yours to give. Do not register an animal belonging to someone else without their knowledge and consent.
How you may not use what we sell
You agree not to:
- present a certificate or card as a legal document, a licence, or a government-issued credential;
- present a pet as a guide dog or service dog when it is not, or use our documents to try to get access that only such a dog has;
- alter, forge, or resell our documents, or produce imitations of them;
- use false information to obtain a registration;
- scrape, bulk-query, or attempt to enumerate the verification lookup.
If you do any of these we may cancel the order and mark the registration inactive.
Price, payment, and how the contract is made
Prices are in US dollars: $35 USD for the certificate, $35 USD for the landlord letter or $55 USD for both. Any GST, HST or PST that applies where you are is calculated by Creem at checkout and shown before you pay; no delivery charge or other fee is added. If your card is in Canadian dollars, your card issuer converts the amount at its own rate. Payment is taken by Creem, by card or another payment method it offers. Creem’s own terms cover the sale and the payment step; these terms cover everything else.
Before you pay, the checkout shows you who sells you the order and how to reach us, what you are buying, the total price and currency, how and when it is delivered, and our refund policy. You see what you are buying, the certificate and card, the letter, or both, on screen with your details on them, you can go back and correct anything, and you confirm expressly before paying. Your order is placed when you press the pay button and the payment succeeds.
We then email you a copy of the contract with your receipt straight away: who sold it, what you bought, the price, the date, and what you confirmed. We keep a record of your order and of the version of these terms it was made under. Refunds and cancellation are covered by our refund policy.
Delivery
Delivery is by email, immediately after payment, usually within a minute. The download links on your confirmation page keep working unless the order is refunded, and for a certificate, while the entry is active.
What we promise, and what we don’t
We will deliver what you paid for and keep the verification page working. We cannot promise any particular outcome with a landlord, property manager, condo corporation or strata, hotel, airline or anyone else, and we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted.
To the extent the law where you live allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for your order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right or remedy you have under the consumer protection law of your province or territory, or any liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
If something goes wrong
Email us first at [email protected]. We will try to sort it out within 30 days, and most things are resolved the same week.
These terms are governed by the laws of the province or territory where you live and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and you may bring a claim in its courts, including small claims court.
Changes
We may update these terms. Changes are not retrospective, and your order is governed by the version in force when you bought, which we record against it. If a change is material for existing customers, we will email you before it takes effect.
Version 2026-10-30. We record which version applied to your order, and we email you before anything material changes. Changes are never retrospective.
