How it works

Start to finish, about two minutes of your time and one payment of $35.

  1. 01

You tell us about your pet

Their name, what they are, and a photo if you have one handy. Two minutes, and only the name is required. Skip the photo and both documents say no photograph was supplied.

  2. 02

You see it before you pay

The card and certificate are drawn on screen with your pet on them, at the real proportions. If it does not look right, close the tab; you have not paid for anything.

  3. 03

    You pay once

You pay through Creem, our merchant of record, by card or another payment method it offers, in US dollars, and we never see your card details. Any sales tax is calculated by Creem and shown at checkout before you pay. There is no account to make with us and no subscription, and nothing is set up that could charge you a second time.

  4. 04

    The documents arrive

Within about a minute: a certificate sized for letter paper and a register card at true bank-card size, as two separate PDFs so you can print one without touching the other. Print the card at 100% rather than “fit to page”.

  5. 05

    The number stays checkable

Every card carries a number and a QR code pointing at a public page that shows your pet and whether the entry is current. It never shows your name or contact details. The entry runs for 18 months, and the date it ends is printed on the card beside “Current until” rather than left for you to work out.

If you are about to ask a landlord about your pet, you can add a letter at the review step, or buy the letter on its own. We write a pet request letter from your answers, for the province the rental is in, with a one-page pet resume to go with it: $35 on its own, or $55 with the certificate, as four PDFs instead of two. The free template is the same kind of letter if you would rather write it yourself. Neither obliges a landlord to agree. More about the letter.

What it will not do for you

If what you actually need is your landlord to say yes, no certificate will do that. Read how pets and tenancy law work in your province first; it is free, and it is the part that matters.

If something goes wrong

The email never arrived. Check spam first, then use the resend page. It is free and there is no limit on it.

You paid and nothing happened. The order is recorded the moment the payment clears, and the documents get made even if our email or our server hiccups at the wrong moment. If an hour passes with nothing, email us and we will push it through by hand.

You changed your mind. Before paying, close the tab: nothing is committed. After delivery the purchase is final, because you keep the documents, and we say so beside the price. If something is faulty or not as described, email us and we put it right.
